Lincecum matches shortest career outing

2008 NL Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum was pulled after giving up three runs in three innings in Tuesday's opener against the Brewers. He walked three and hit a batter in an outing that matched the shortest of his career.

Here's my Rotoworld writeup:

There was nothing to indicate an injury. Lincecum struggled right from the start. He had a walk, a HBP and a wild pitch during a scoreless first. In the second, there was a leadoff walk and two RBI doubles, the first from opposing pitcher Jeff Suppan. The Giants warmed up Joe Martinez once Lincecum got into trouble again in the third, and Lincecum didn't return for the fourth after throwing 78 pitches. Perhaps the confusion before the game, with the Giants originally indicating the game would be pushed back at least an hour due to rain, only to start it a mere 23 minutes late, had something to do with Lincecum's poor showing.
