Rememeber how J.C. Ricciardi made a point of telling everyone that the Jays won't listen to Roy Halladay offers all the way up to the deadline? Yeah, not so much:
While the official non-waiver trading deadline is 4 p.m. ET Friday, the official Halladay trading deadline is Tuesday evening, according to Ricciardi, though not a single GM in the game seems to believe he'll hold to that. Apparently we'll go at least into that final day, as Ricciardi had not approached Halladay about waiving his no-trade rights as of Monday evening.
I still don't think he's going anywhere, but on the off chance he does, it' ain't happening today.

It is JP not JC Riccardi and while the deadline might be laughable it makes sense given Halladay is to start Wednesday and dealing Halladay (which as you mention ain't gonna happen) would lead to a complete overhaul of the team (bye-bye Rolen, Scutaro, Overbay).
Personally, if that Phillies offer is the best deal out there, forget it, keep Halladay. The Jays have enough young back end of the rotation pitchers. Even Happ/Drabek are no great shakes, one is 27 and just cracking the bigs and the other the son of a major leaguer (who tend to be more hype than substance).
I say give them Drabek...he has not proven himself in the majors. The Phils core is not based on homegrown talent. The only homegrown players are Howard, Utley, Rollins and Hamel. Impressive, but not the entire team. Ibanez, Victorino, Werth, Feliz, Blanton etc are the result of trades. Trades made due to their proven ability to affect the game. Give them Drabek and the other minor players. Keep Happ and it is fair.
The two MVPs, the perennial MVP candidate and the World Series MVP aren't the core?
i don't know, Craig. I'm with Neyer that if some of the reported offers are true, mainly the Red Sox offer, the JP should be fired for not accepting.
