It won't help your fantasy team any, but Curtis Granderson made what has to be the catch of the year on Friday night, going over the wall to rob Grady Sizemore of what would have been a game-winning home run off Justin Verlander.
The catch stunned the Indians, pumped up Verlander, and fooled announcer Matt Underwood in a most amusing way. (Watch the video here)
Granderson played it cool after the play, but Verlander wasn't so reserved, offering his center fielder a big hug.
"When you consider the situation," Verlander said, "it doesn't get any better than this."
Verlander pitched a two-hitter, striking out 11 for the victory. A victory that never would have happened without Granderson.

Wow! What a game!
Verlander pitched a great game, regardless of that hit. He's really turned it around after a mediocre season last year and a not so great start to this season.
Great catch, but NOT catch of the year. Reed Johnson gets credit for that by robbing Prince Fielder of a grand slam.
that was a fantastic catch but for the record the announcer was al palowski, not matt underwood.
Thanks for the catch. I got the information from this story, which has since been changed.
Then on Sunday, Torii Hunter gives us another very nice candidate.
