* What did Oliver Perez think of the Mets' decision to demote him to the bullpen? He called it "a really good move" and added: "I have to work on everything, but I haven't been throwing a lot of strikes. I've been a reliever before, and that helped me."
* Shockingly, it appears as though Yankees fans aren't thrilled with being 0-5 against the Red Sox and may not be entirely pleased with the team's manager. Of course, once upon a time they weren't all that happy with the last guy either.
* Matthew Leach of MLB.com has an update on Rick Ankiel's status: "Ankiel is back with the team, looking and sounding pretty good. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by his appearance/affect/etc. when we spoke with him this afternoon. Still listed as day-to-day, for what that's worth."
* Kansas City Star columnist/blogger Joe Posnanski is a must-read when the Royals are terrible, but now that he has a first-place team and Zack Greinke to write about ... look out!
